Principle of operation and design
The heater is designed for continuous (cruising) heating of diesel fuel in the fuel line while driving or with the engine running.
It is recommended to install the heater directly in front of the fine filter so that the heated fuel enters the filter immediately, which will prevent waxing and ensure normal filterability.
In addition, it is also recommended to install a band heater on the filter, which is guaranteed to provide fuel supply both in prestart and cruise modes.
Installation
The working position of the heater is vertical. In this case, the inlet and outlet fittings are located horizontally. The direction of fuel movement is indicated by arrows on the fittings.
The heater is attached to the bracket in the engine compartment with two screws. The ends of the fuel line are secured to the fittings with clamps.
Connection to the vehicle's on-board network is carried out according to one of the schemes given in the passports, depending on the type of control - automatic or manual.
The interior LED lights up when the heating is switched on.
Control
The most expedient and convenient automatic control mode, when the electronics turns on heating when the fuel temperature drops below + 5 ° C and turns it off when this temperature is exceeded. When choosing a heater with manual control, switching on / off is performed by the driver manually from the passenger compartment.
The heater with an electronic control unit is switched on in the heating mode only after the engine is started with the generator running, which removes the load from the battery.
The heating elements used in this device exclude the possibility of fuel overheating above critical temperatures, and ensure its complete safety.
Quality and guarantees
They remain operational when the supply voltage changes within 90-125%.
The service life of the heater is at least 5 years, the mean time between failures is at least 3000 hours.
Choosing a model
Heaters model PP-101 and PP-201 are intended for passenger cars with a voltage of 12 V on-board network, having a diesel fuel consumption along the main line (taking into account the return flow) up to 150 l / h. Heaters PP-102 and PP-202 - for trucks, buses and tractors with an on-board voltage of 24 V and a fuel consumption of up to 420 l / h.
Heaters also differ in the diameter of the nozzles: for 12V models - 6.5mm / 9mm (internal / external), 24V - 9mm / 12mm (internal / external) and the type of control.
