Again winter - again there are problems with the operation of diesel equipment.

A decrease in temperature below + 5ºC causes an increase in viscosity and waxing of diesel fuel, which causes two main problems:

1. The permeability of the fuel through the fuel line, especially through the filters, deteriorates.
   As a result, there are interruptions in the delivery of fuel to the engine.
2. Fuel consumption increases.
   Due to an increase in the viscosity of the fuel, the quality of its atomization by the nozzles deteriorates. Fuel is not completely burned in the engine cylinders, resulting in reduced power and increased fuel consumption.

The most effective way to eliminate these problems is to warm up difficult-to-pass sections of the fuel line. For this, it is recommended to use diesel fuel heaters adapted to vehicle technology.

Pre-starting and mid-flight heating of the fuel filter and its elements

The process of heating the fuel filter and its elements is divided by purpose into two types:

Pre-launch and sustainer.

Preheating the engine is performed before starting the engine. Its purpose is to ensure the permeability of the filter elements, the pores of which are filled with paraffin crystals formed in the fuel at low temperatures during the parking period.

The purpose of the cruise heating, accordingly, is to ensure uninterrupted movement of fuel through all elements of the fuel line when the engine is running.
