Application and working principle
Disk heaters PD-100 are designed for pre-starting and sustained heating of diesel fuel passing through a fine filter at ambient temperatures from + 5 ° C to -40 ° C.
The heater was specially designed for plastic filters of Ford Transit cars equipped with USR6, CVR5, UYR6, CV24 engines (PD-101 type).
A feature of this type of heater is that it combines the functions of instantaneous heating, when the fuel elements of the heater are directly in the fuel flow and preheating, when the fuel in the fine filter is heated before starting the engine through contact with the heater. The recommended duration of pre-heating the filter from the battery is 5-10 minutes. In the cruising mode with the engine running, it will take approximately one minute to increase the temperature of the diesel fuel by 1 ° C.
Installation
The heater is mounted in the fuel filter housing through the M20x1-6g threaded hole and fixed with a union nut. For the tightness of the connections, the delivery set includes O-rings made of oil-petrol-resistant rubber. After installing the heater in the car filter, it is necessary to connect it to the car's electrical network. The heater can be turned on only after filling the filter with diesel fuel, checking the tightness, as well as the entire electrical part.
Control
The heater is switched on and off using a switch located in the passenger compartment. Control over the inclusion is carried out by the LED indicator.
Quality and guarantees
The design of the heaters excludes the possibility of overheating and optimizes energy consumption.
They remain operational when the supply voltage changes within 90-125%.
The service life of the heater is at least 5 years, the mean time between failures is at least 3000 hours.
Choosing a model
So, to choose a model, you need to know:
- Is your car equipped with a USR6, CVR5, UYR6, CV24 engine (these are Ford Transit cars with a year of manufacture 2014 and earlier).
- Supply voltage of your car (12 or 24V). For Ford Transit cars, the power supply is 12 V.
